I live in Australia where we have pretty poor quality snow and short skiing seasons which come and go quite quickly. For quite some time I have been thinking on how I could emulate skiing without snow. I first checked probably everything that has been invented in this space from rolling tread based grass ski through roller ski, Harb carvers to crosskates etc. but none of these really behave like carving skis and can be easily controlled by an average skier. I finally came up with a device that can carve on dry surface and have been asking skiers in dfferent forums what they think about the idea. This brief video below shot on the day my gear was made shows how it works. I was going rather slow to get some feeling of its dynamics but it was quite stable and easy to control the speed.
The front and rear wheels turn in sync on tipping on the edge and the turning radius can be as short as 1.5m (6feet). Please let me know what you think. If you have seen my postings in some other forum and have not commented yet this is your chance
