Why you should take a short ski break in January

This season, as Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve fall on a Saturday (Christmas Day and New Year’s Day on a Sunday) most operators decided to change their usual Saturday/Sunday departure dates so that guests would not have to travel on festive days. In order to get back to operating on the usual departure days, operators have had to offer short break options for the first week of January.

If you are thinking about a short ski break we suggest you take advantage of this January week as not only will you get your holiday at a great price, there is usually great snow at this time of year too! Below are the main three January departure dates, duration options and operators;

Monday 02nd – Sunday 08th Jan (6 nights) – Club Med/VIP/YSE/Scott Dunn

Tuesday 03rd – Saturday 07th Jan (4 nights) – Neilson/Skiworld/Ski Cuisine

Tuesday 03rd – Sunday 08th Jan (5 nights) – Ski Olympic/Le Ski/ Ski Val

If you are not sure of the best options, just give our friendly team a call 020 7801 1080 and tell us roughly what you are looking for in your ski short break holiday (budget, number of people in your party, type of resort and accommodation etc) and we will find the best option for you.

To help your with you choose a short break, we have selected our top January short ski break chalets below;

Our Top Short Ski Break Chalets for January

1. Chalet Haus Hockar **** St Anton, Austria  – Sleeps 10-11

Due to the way St Anton as a resort is laid out there are very few chalets where you have the benefit of being able to ski from the door. The chalet Haus Hochkar is different because you can which is quite special in this resort. All you need to do is open the door, put on your skis and glide down the snow to the lifts, nursery slopes, ski school and kids kindergarten.
