That 'Extra Mile'

Working in a luxury chalet can seem easy but to work at the top you need to understand your guests and anticipate their requests before they have even thought about them.

Many high quality chalet companies keep a portfolio on guests, so upon their return, you can truly make their stay an experience they will never forget.

Silver Swan have been lucky enough to experience a trial/ fam trip with Consensio Holidays for the past 5 years, this season the staff did their research and really put the effort in to make our stay special.

David has been the chalet manager of Aurora Borealis in Meribel for the past 4 years and his attention to detail has to be mentioned, here are a few things which himself and team went out of their way to provide for our stay – it is worth noting this for any current chalet hosts/ managers, this detail (we ensure you) will get you noticed, not just within the management of the company but also guests.

-          Staff did an après party in the basement on Saturday night before dinner, they had read on the manifest that last year lots of Jagerbombs were drunk. This year staff had bought 2 litres of Jager and took on the role of bar tender/ cocktail master. Music was also provided to create a lively, party atmosphere.

-          Sunday morning when some people wanted to chill and watch a film and nurse their hangovers David brought in popcorn for everyone!

-           Impeccable service throughout, a constant flow of champagne and bottled water when guests were in the hot tub.

-          Housekeeping has been great, guest’s rooms are tidy and spotless every time we go in both morning and evening.

-          Afternoon tea on Saturday was a selection of sandwiches on homemade bread along with 3 different sweet options – mini Victoria sponges, shortbread in animal shapes and homemade flapjack.

-          Great chauffeur service, the chauffeur went above and beyond, helping with housekeeping and cleaning duties.  A lovely message to guests that staff work as a team

-          Beautiful Christmas tree decorated and ready upon guest’s arrival.

-          Last year one of our guests requested a particular whiskey, this year, staff had gone out of their way to provide this season. This really emphasises notes to details to guests in chalet!

Overall, Silver Swan’s stay in Chalet Aurora Borealis has been fabulous, it’s not the end yet.
