This week we are recruiting for a Chalet Assistant/ Driver . . . .

You will be working as part of a small owner run company providing luxurious catered chalet holidays in the traditional alpine village of Morzine in the heart of the Portes du Soleil, the world’s largest linked ski area.

The right person must have a passion for providing exceptional service, always putting the customers first and working hard to meet their needs. You must take pride in your work, have extremely high standards, be conscientious and considerate, enjoy working as part of a small team and most importantly have a love for hospitality and be proud to be part of a team.

As Chalet Assistant/Driver you will be assisting and supporting your colleagues in the day to day running of the chalet.  You will work as part of a team of four (Chalet Manager, Chalet Chef, Chalet Host and Chalet Assistant/Driver) all striving to meet the company’s standards at all times.

The position demands a great deal of flexibility and interaction with both guests and colleagues. This is a greatly varied and physical position which will call for a degree of practical ability as well as responsibility and awareness. You will need to be self-motivated resourceful, proactive, sociable and happy to assist in whatever situation comes your way.

  • Relevant hospitality and customer service experience  (Essential)
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills with a ‘nothing is too much trouble’ attitude (Essential)
  • Hands on practical and proactive approach with strong practical capabilities (Essential)
  • Good interpersonal skills able to converse at all levels with colleagues and guests (Essential)
  • Strong eye for attention to detail (Essential)
  • Full, clean driving licence (Desirable)
  • Minimum of three years own insurance (Essential)
  • Previous off road or ice driving experience (Desirable)
  • Safe and confident driver with experience of driving in European countries (Essential)
  • Good practical and mechanical vehicle knowledge and experience (Desirable)
  • Team Player – supports where necessary (Essential)
  • Holder of a valid EU Passport (Essential)

What are the main duties of the role?

Customer Service:

-      Ensure the guests benefit from the highest possible levels of service

-      Confidently and knowledgeably host guests: able to answer questions, provide information and advise on services, the resort, ski area and service providers

-      Take time to speak with guests about their day

-      Work in an open and honest way with the team; give and receive feedback, review performance

-      Be proactive in identifying and recommending opportunities to enhance guest satisfaction

-      On changeover day work within your the team to ensure guests departing and arriving are considered and welcomed professionally

-      Feedback to your Chalet Manager immediately any problems or concerns


-      Provide a daily driver service for guests transporting guests to and from the slopes,  around town, restaurants ensuring guests are driven safely

-      Prepare your vehicle for guests, warming the vehicle, loading/unloading skis and luggage

-      Be prepared to drive at all times on duty, taking the appropriate care to ensure safety

-      Transfer any persons or goods as and when required

-      Carry out late night pickups of guests from Morzine and provide an extended driver service hours as and when required


-      Manage and maintain your vehicle on a daily basis, ensuring that it remains clean, tidy and roadworthy at all times

-      Snow and ice clearing

-      Stock the chalet with wine, champagne, beer, spirits and mixers on a daily basis

-      Help with light maintenance issues around the chalet such as changing of light bulbs, coffee machines, dishwashers, cleaning of windows

-      Responsible for the recycling and removal of general rubbish from the chalets on a daily basis

-      Daily maintenance of your chalet hot tub, responsible for monitoring and managing chemicals and safety, maintain the log book and comply to legal standards

-      Keep boot room clean and tidy at all times, maintain boot dryers and glove warmers

-      Ensure chalet entrance and hallways are clean and tidy
