After a slow start, the conditions are improving rapidly.
Big Sky opened on November 27th, with just a couple of runs, and very thin snow cover. For the next two weeks, the weather remained frustratingly mild and dry.
But recently, the pattern changed, and there have been several significant snowfalls. The powder in the trees has been getting deeper and deeper, and even on the rocky windswept terrain above the tree-line, there is good cover - on runs like Liberty Bowl and the Big Couloir.
More fresh powder is falling at the moment, providing the ideal present for Christmas.
