A small luxury ski company, based in Morzine, is looking for a Chalet Host to join their team. Previous 4/5* hospitality experience is essential, preferably you will have past experience of working on yachts.

This is a great opportunity to get out to the Alps and work for one of the best ski companies in the Porte du Soleil.

This company offer a great package; competitive salary, accommodation, Portes du Soleil lift pass, food during working hours, laundry, equipment hire, uniform and training!!! Why wouldn’t you want to work in Morzine for the season when you get such a good package . . . we are tempted ourselves to go out, especially with the powder in resort at the moment.

Anyway – down to the nitty gritty, the package may be amazing but there is no point in applying if your skills do not fit the following requirements:

WHAT SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE ARE REQUIRED:

  • Relevant hospitality and customer service  - a previous background in 4/5 star establishments with silver service/fine dining and housekeeping experience (Essential)
  • Keen eye for detail (Essential)
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills with a ‘nothing is too much trouble’ attitude (Essential)
  • Hands on practical and proactive approach (Essential)
  • Good interpersonal skills able to converse at all levels with colleagues and guests (Essential)
  • Able to work on own initiative as well as being a team player (Essential)
  • Holder of an EU Passport (Essential)

WHAT ABILITIES AND QUALITIES ARE REQUIRED?

·         Professional attitude: retaining our ethos at all times, highly professional with a 5 star mentality

·         Customer service orientated: providing the highest levels of service, a wanting to constantly please and takes pride in their chalet

·         Strong people skills: able to quickly build rapport and easily establish relationships with guests. Able to relate well to different types of people; listens

·         Guest focussed: puts the guest first and is committed to please them. Works hard to meet guest needs and look after their interests

·         Attention to detail: a natural perfectionist, highly passionate about cleanliness and tidiness, smart in own appearance

·         Team player: fits in with the team. Develops effective and supportive relationships with colleagues. Is considerate towards them and creates a sense of team spirit

·         Ability to work under pressure: able to react well to change, can work quickly but not missing the importance of quality standards

·         Organisation: able to prioritise and prepare in advance

·         Reliability: follows direction from the Chalet Manager, is committed to the role and completing the season

 

WHAT ARE THE MAIN DUTIES OF THE ROLE?

Customer Service:

·         Ensure that all our guests benefit from the highest possible level of  service

·         Assist Chalet Manager to tailor services to individual guest needs and requirements – children, special occasions and any special requests

·         Confidently and knowledgeably host guests: able to answer questions, provide information and advise on Freedom Ski services, the resort, ski area and service providers

·         Create a warm and welcoming atmosphere

·         Check regularly with party leaders that they have everything they need

·         Take time to speak with guests about their day

·         Work in an open and honest way with the team; give and receive feedback, review performance

·         Be proactive in identifying and recommending opportunities to your Chalet Manager which may enhance guest satisfaction

·         On changeover days work within your team to ensure guests departing and arriving are considered and welcomed professionally

·         Feedback to your Chalet Manager immediately any problems or concerns

Food Service:

·         Lay table, serve full breakfast, afternoon tea and children’s tea

·         Serve pre diner drinks, appetisers and a four to five course evening meal in a formal dining environment

·         Assist in preparing breakfast, baking of a cake, appetisers, and four course evening dinner on six days a week

·         Clear breakfast, afternoon tea, children’s tea, pre diner drinks, appetisers and dinner on six days a week

Housekeeping:

·         Daily housekeeping, evening turndown service, changeover cleans, deep cleans at the beginning, mid and end of season, daily laundry duties and other necessary cleaning to ensure the chalet is presented to the highest standards both inside and out at all times

·         Responsible for towel and robe laundry including mid-week towel change

·         Responsible for the weekly bed linen laundry

·         Work and maintain the chalet and equipment in a safe, operational and hygienic way to Freedom ski standards

·         Assist with clearing paths, steps and driveways, remove rubbish and lay fires

·         On changeover days work within your team to do whatever is needed to ensure the chalet is cleaned and presented to the highest standards and ready and welcoming for guest arrival

·         Report to your Chalet Manager immediately any matters relating to damage, health and safety, food hygiene

Administration:

·         Assist to manage chalet variable costs (i.e electricity, heating)

·         Liaise with Chalet Manager on a regular basis to discuss guest requirements, guest details and bookings
