Ischgl in winter-mode

Hang on … please don’t pack away your ski and snowboard gear just yet – for the best of Spring skiing in the Alps lasts right through to the beginning of May in the lively Tirolean ski resort of Ischgl.

And there’s lots of slope action and events awaiting snow fans.

On 15/16 April the cream of the hospitality industry will meet for a taste of giant slalom on Ischgl’s slopes as the resort hosts the Gastronomical Ski World Cup 2015, with 1,250 competitors from 15 nations taking part in the 7th annual event. Waiters, chefs, sommeliers, hoteliers, restaurateurs, barkeepers and suppliers are happy to swap table service for slope-action in this unique giant slalom on Ischgl’s slopes.

And there’s a new special category for snowboarders this year in all events.

The Ischgl Heroes Challenge from 24-26 April features ski legends Marc Giradelli, Leonhard Stock and Sigrid Wolf in a team-led and inspired ski challenge on Ischgl’s famed 238 kms of perfectly groomed piste.

The curtain-closer for Ischgl’s huge five-month-long snowsure season is US-crowd-pleaser band Thirty Seconds To Mars, who will perform on an open-air stage at 2,300 in the mountains on Saturday 2 May.

Erna Low has 7 nights staying at the Hotel Fliana on a half-board basis, including return flights from London to Innsbruck, with baggage, and shared transfers from the airport to resort for £1,309 per person. The warm and welcoming Design Hotel boasts a stylish design, indoor swimming pool, spa facilities, its very own après-ski bar and enjoys a fantastic location in the heart of Ischgl. Departs 18th April 2015, subject to availability, prices based on 2 sharing or call 0207 584 2841.
