Back to the Palmer Glacier

In late August, Reece and I returned to Mt Hood, Oregon, for two more weeks of on-snow training.

Considering that we were on a Northern Hemisphere glacier in late August, and it had not snowed since June, the conditions were fairly good. Towards the end of our trip we even had some pretty solid overnight freezes.

We were training with Can-Am Camps, led by head coach Paul Tollefson; Reece was skiing alongside athletes from Cascade Winter Sports Club.
I was lucky to be working alongside couple of young, talented, up-and-coming coaches from the East Coast: Lyndsay Strange and Scott Houser.

We also had the opportunity to go kayaking on the beautiful Trillium Lake; thank you, Law family, for lending us your boats!

Oh, and I got a nice photo of one of the Snowvole's North American relatives...
