An airline guide about taking snowboards/skis on flights

For the hardcore winter sport enthusiast, it’s likely you have your own equipment. However, knowing when to take it with you and when to leave it at home can often be a dilemma. Some airlines will take them for free while others require you to reserve a space in the cabin at the time of booking your flight. It can be a very confusing process and can lead to huge disappointment if you show up at the airport with skis and poles only to find out their too big and can’t board the plane!

Luckily, momondo compiled a list of the fees and requirements for taking ski and snowboard gear with you on a flight, as well as the average rental prices in major ski locations, and put it into this handy table. Take a look at the airlines you might fly with and find out whether you’re good to go!
