Silver Swan Job of the Week is: Resort Manager & Driver/Maintenance Couple

We are recruiting for a luxury chalet in La Tania, France

What are we looking for?

Resort Manager:

Duties to include:

Pre-Season: Opening the chalets, preparing staff rooms, checking inventories, and preparing the staff training (to include purchasing food and cleaning products for the staff training week)

·      Placing weekly orders for food and wine, controlling stock in all of the chalets to ensure chalets have all the provisions required

·      Ensuring chalets are health and safety compliant

·      Managing all resort staff to include the chalet staff, the driver and the handyman

·      Ensuring the chalets, and vehicles are well maintained at all times

·      Ensuring the vehicles are clean and full of petrol on Friday evening

·      Monitoring laundry supplies

·      Supervising the chalet staff, making daily visits to ensure the high standards are maintained and work is being carried out as required.  Dealing with any areas of poor performance and disciplining when necessary

·      Holding regular meetings with the resort staff

·      Responsible for training any replacement staff during the season

·      Preparing pre-booked ski passes before changeover day and taking payments

·      Ensuring all special requests by guests are carried out (high chairs, cots etc)

·      Welcoming the guests to ensure they have ski hire, ski school, ski passes and any other requests arranged

·      Taking payments for ski passes, (cash or credit card payments) and accounting for these on a spreadsheet

·      Conducting evening visits to the chalets to make sure guests are having a good holiday, to obtain feedback, and deal with any guest queries, emergencies or complaints

·      Assisting with any guest insurance matters following injury on the slopes or illness

·      Liaising daily with the driver and the handyman to ensure chalets and vehicles are in good working order and tasks are carried out promptly

·      Admin:  Completing all administration duties when and where necessary

·      Recording all company expenditure on spreadsheets

·      Distributing the guest questionnaires, and reviewing these each week to identify any problems or issues

·      Covering for staff illness or injury in any of the chalets and if necessary driving on transfer days

·      Responsible for the close down of the chalets at the end of the season

Driver/Maintenance Couple

You will be in charge of ensuring that all the chalets are in good working order.  From fixing a broken toilet seat, to mending a tumble drier, or a leaky pipe, you must be able to turn your hand to all things DIY. You will be in charge of running the hot tubs in the chalets, to include twice daily visual checks, and a weekly empty and refill.  You will be on call from 4-7pm every evening for maintenance jobs in the chalets.

Additional Duties:

·      You will be required to drive to any of the four airports, and railway station on Saturdays and Sundays to pick up clients for our chalets or other accommodation in the Three Valleys. There may also from time to time be some mid week airport transfers. On occasions, you may have to drive twice in one day to the airport.

·      Snow Clearing, keeping all driveways, paths, steps and parking spaces (for guests and company vehicles) around the chalets clear of snow at all times

·      Clearing icicles around the chalets, and ensuring it is safe to walk around the hot tubs and all entrances to the chalets

·      Ensuring adequate stocks of light bulbs in all the chalets

·      Ensuring sufficient chemicals for the hot tubs

·      Assisting with deliveries and movement of stock between the chalets

·      Collection and delivery of wine to the chalets

·      Delivery and stacking of wood in the chalets

·      Assisting with the delivery of the weekly shop to the chalets

·      Driving the Chalet Support on shopping day, assisting with the shopping and delivery of shopping to the chalets when the Driver has a transfer

·      Checking the boot warmers on a daily basis, and a daily tidy of all boot rooms in the three chalets (putting shoes and helmets straight, emptying the water out of the tray in Juliette and picking up rubbish)

·      Weekly visual checks of the washing machine and tumble drier to identify any leaks and emptying the filters regularly

·      Cleaning up around the chalets (rubbish, cigarette butts and empty cans and bottles)

·      Assisting in the chalets when required as directed by the Resort Manager.  This can include vacuuming, dusting, cleaning windows, changing towels, taking rubbish to the bins and helping with washing up.

·      You must have a professional attitude, and be able to work independently, using your own initiative.
