#JOTW CHEF please!!!

This week Silver Swan have a great opportunity for a chef looking for work in the Three Valleys, France.

We have a small chalet company looking for someone to join their team in La Tania.

The chalet company has 5 chalets in total, so a lovely small establishment where any employee has the opportunity to gain a great deal, experience, friends and laughter.

Most guests return year after year and new guests generally hear about the company through word of mouth. Therefore, Silver Swan, are looking for a chef who has the ability to want guests coming back for more.

You will be provided with exemplary menus with a high food and wine budget.

The aim: to employ great chefs with the passion and personality to match, creating varied meals from hearty breakfasts to sumptuous four course dinners each day. You will also be given a high level of autonomy in regards to menu planning so your flair can shine through and bring something new to clients who may be on the eighth year holidaying.

 

Together with your chalet host you will be required to run a spotless chalet, keeping high standards of cleanliness throughout, whilst controlling stocks and weekly budgets and creating a warm welcoming atmosphere at all times.

 So what will you be expected to do?

A day in the life (six day week one day off mid-week)

 

7.30am – 11.am – set up and cook breakfast with cooked options along with a continental style menu.  Clean down and prepare the day’s afternoon tea, of cake or similar delight. Prep any dinner dishes that require early cooking or chilling.

 Ensuring kitchen, lounge and communal areas are kept at a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness. Daily control of stock and budgets to achieve weekly targets set by alpine escape.

 

 From around 11- 5 each depending on completing all your chores the time is yours, go out and enjoy the mountains!

 

5.30pm/6pm* – 9.30/10pm approx, prepare, cook and help serve with your host the evening meal, ensuring dishes are both creative and of course filling.

 Keep records of fridge temperatures and ensure stock rotation, keeping to a planned cleaning rota.

 On top of all this we are looking for someone who make sure clients are well looked after and enjoy their holiday, creating a homely atmosphere is the key to successful chalet hosting and ensures you also have a great season.

 

 *You will need to start at 5pm if children’s meals are required.
